Take Back Pakistan
Top Mayors of the World

While the domestic media continues to sing the praises of Mustafa Kamal (and he deserves a lot of praise) for his #2 ranking by Foreign Policy magazine, bad reporting is in play.

If you check the ratings that were issued by Foreign Policy magazine, you will find that Syed Mustafa Kamal, Mayor of the great City of Karachi is #57, not number #2. I can however see how someone would think that he was number #2 based on a profile page that was included, but it clearly says next to his name #57.

Can the media please correct this information for the general public or are they too busy gaining favors from the MQM for this propaganda?

We are very quick and smart in taking away the credit from anybody, specially from our own people. The number 57 written next to his name is the rating of Karachi on the Global City Index. Mayor of Berlin who secured the first position is having number 17 in front of his name and similarly the third best Mayor of Chongqing bears the number 59 of his city.
MQM and Mustafa Kamal has set an example for all the political parties and the Mayors and nobody can snatch away their credit. We must now think of our country first leaving behind all our personal grudges.

    Nasir Sahab,

First, my post was not a condemnation on Mustafa Kamal or the MQM. My argument was for the media to get the story right.

I fully agree that Mustafa Kamal has done fantastic things for the city of Karachi and we, Karachities, are very lucky to have him as our mayor. The improvements completed and those in progress will greatly improve the city of Karachi for those who live here and those who invest, visit or do business here. However, I am sorry that I can't agree with your argument that he is ranked #2 as a mayor around the world. If you review the Foreign Policy magazine and its website, you will find that there is no individual ranking for mayor, only cities. While I would like to believe that Mustafa Kamal is the 2nd best mayor in the world, there is no survey to back that up. At least, not in the Foreign Policy magazine issue that we are discussing.

If you read the text above the comment about Mustafa Kamal, it states "Here's how three of the world's top mayors are climbing the ladder." As far as my understanding of English goes that doesn't say that he is one of the top three mayors in the world. Credit is due to Mustafa Kamal and his team, and the party that brought him to the people, there is no arguing that.

Country first has always been our belief at Behind the Chairman's Door!

maybe it would be more appropriate to say that we are very quick and smart in trying to get credit where non is due. How can this Nasir continue to argue on the point that there is no ranking as given by http://www.worldmayor.com/ . Isn’t that typical of desi’s who will continue to argue even when the evidence is overwhelmingly against them!!!
Nasir you might want to understand that you can only improve if you know what is wrong in the first place instead of trying to ignore the evidence….
